What happened in my 2010?

2010 was really a great year for me. A year full of accomplishments, prizes, competitions, challenges and dreams !!

On the professional side, here's what impressed me most during this year :

• I was Microsoft Student Partner .. again  
• I participate in a competition on TV and i won the 3rd place.
• I participate in IE8 Dev Challenge and i won the 2nd place
• I participate in another competition on TV and i won the 1st place
• I participate in Imagine Cup 2010 Tunisian finals: i got the 1st place with my team “DotNET Champions”.
• In the same day i was elected as “Best Microsoft Student Partner for Tunisia”.

• I defended my graduation project (17/20) and i got my diploma of computer engineer.

• I got certified MCTS WPF.
• I participate in Imagine Cup 2010 finals in Warsaw, Poland.

• I won an ultimate msdn account from a French MVP Lavocat Fabien .(Thank you Fabien )

 

on the personal side:

• Belgium: Brussel

• Playing with Surface

• Playing with Kinect for Xbox 360.

• Doing presentations and helping my friends understanding Silverlight and Azure.
• Launch my own Web Radio, getting my friends working with me for a while.. we had a great time!
• Being part of a Child support association (ASSEN) , I’m very happy to get involved in such a voluntary work to help children in need.

During this year, I learned how to focus on what we want and what we love, how to smile to difficulties, how to lie on our dreams !!

So, my friends, my only advice for you is to dream!

Dream about something big! and you will see how this dream will change your life

Windows Azure Video #1

Our Microsoft Community Leader in Tunisia MarweN Boughattas told us, as MSPs, to share some videos about "Windows Azure" and "Windows Phone 7".

WebCamp Paris #1 - Première conférence WebCamp Microsoft à Paris !

Qui a dit que Facebook ne sert à rien?

Grace à Facebook, j’ai connu cette page “Developpeurs.net” dont je suis fan!

C’est une page très riche en informations sur les nouvelles technologies Microsoft.

Dernièrement, cette page a lancé un évènement que j’ai senti très intéressant: le WebCamp.

Les Webcamps sont des conférences mensuelles sur le Web et le développement Web, animées par divers intervenants de Microsoft, de ses partenaires et de la communauté.

J’ai eu de la chance d’arriver à Paris juste une semaine avant et donc d’assister au premier WebCamp Paris.

Ce premier WebCamp est co-organisé avec la participation de l'IRI qui nous accueille au Centre Pompidou.

Au menu :

• HTML5 : Quels apports pour le Web ?

Les principaux points que j’ai retenus sont:

HTML5 est le futur du web mais pas pour maintenant. Il faut encore patienter.

L’animateur a surtout parlé de la balise <video> qui permet d’intégrer une vidéo directement sans avoir à installer un plugin; un avantage par rapport à Flash et Silverlight.

Il a encore illustrer l’importance de la balise <canvas> qui par rapport à SVG "bouffe" moins de mémoire.

Il a également parlé du CSS3 qui est révolutionnaire au niveau du Média Queries; Backgrounds & Borders et qui s’adapte d’une manière dynamique à n’importe quel device.

Il a finit par dire que Silverlight n’est pas mort face à HTML5, surtout si on veut utiliser le pivot, IE6 ( en entreprise) ou encore jouer avec des applications utilisant la Webcam chose qui ne sera intégrée qu’à HTML 6 ou 7..

• La deuxième partie du Webcamp était consacrée à l’idée de monter un site Web complet en 45 minutes grâce à un WebAPI de Microsoft.

Microsoft s’est rendu compte qu’elle est passé à coté du monde des CMS qui a vraiment révolutionné le web par sa facilité d’installation, d’utilisation et de déploiement c’est pourquoi qu’elle décide de créer un outil simple et intéressant.

Ce WebAPI de Microsoft s’appelle WebMatrix et permet d’utiliser soit des CMS déjà existant comme Joomla, WordPress ou encore drupal afin de créer rapidement des sites web; soit de créer directement des sites web grâce au Framework offert par webmatrix; soit de créer des applications web un peu plus performantes.

• La troisième partie du WebCam était consacré à la nouvelle relation entre PHP et Microsoft.
  - PHP et Microsoft : Quoi de nouveau et où en sommes nous ?

Microsoft s’est encore rendu compte qu’elle s’est éloignée du monde du PHP et que ça ne sert à rien de mener cette guerre et que le mieux au contraire c’est de servir cette technologie vue qu’elle est très utilisée dans le web. et du coup, Windows performe son runtime PHP, passe de CGI à Fast CGI, un WinCache et crée même un Driver PHP pour SQL Server (sous licence Apache 2 et disponible sur CodePlex)

Un PHP manager est crée pour faciliter le réglage et le pilotage des sites web PHP.

On n’oublie pas bien sure de rappeler que la relation PHP Microsoft s’étend via le Cloud Azure avec une SDK installable sur Eclipse.

Cette première session de WebCamp était super intéressante pour moi, je vous encourage vivement d’y participer si vous êtes sur Paris car ça continue encore.

MSP Boot Camp 2011 ! It’s your time to shine !

Saturday, October 23, 2010 was an extraordinary day !

80 tunisian brilliant students was chosen this year to be Microsoft Student Partners.

The MSP Boot Camp was full of fun, joy and knowledge from the professional guests.

This event took place in “Dar Zaghouan”, a place from paradise.

MSPs had so much fun, they had the ability to know each other in a very relaxing mood..

The entire Group.. 80 MSPs full of motivation, innovation and dreams !!

Lunch of the Startups program 2010 in Microsoft Innovation Center

Friday, October 15, 2010 Microsoft Innovation Center, Tunisia hosted the official launch of the annual sponsorship of startups that Microsoft was chaired by Mr. Walid Abu-Hadba, Corporate Vice President of Development and Platform Group, Microsoft Corporation.

Mr. Walid Abu-Hadba presented Microsoft's strategy to support the software industry and the programs put in place for the development of innovative startups Tunisian. He shared the vision of Microsoft on the development of innovative technology projects and new business areas with strong growth potential such as cloud computing and Mobility.

Mr Walid’s speach was realy amazing, it was devided into three major parts:

Dream Big !

You have a choice : you lead or you follow behind.. if you follow you will die.. so lead dream create !!

You can do it !

Very useful speach for every country to dream, create and lead !

This summer, between 02/07/2010 and 09/07/2010, i spend an amazing week, a unique experience, while participating in the international competiton Microsoft Imagine Cup !!

I realy can’t find words that could describe what i felt in those moments..

This was for sure one of the best experience of my life !
